Missions

Center Grove is committed to spreading the good news of the Gospel as commanded by our Lord in the Great Commission. We have a strong desire to see people from all tribes, tongues, and nations come to know Jesus Christ in a personal way in order to bring God the greatest glory.

Annual Missions Conference

Center Grove hosts an Annual Missions Conference in early March. The conference is devoted to learning more about the various missionaries and mission organizations Center Grove supports. Breakout sessions with career and short-term missionaries allow members to hear what the Lord is doing so we can support missions with our prayer and finances. At the end of the conference Faith Promises are received for the coming year.

Faith Promises

We use Faith Promise giving as a biblical way to encourage and challenge God’s people to an ongoing involvement in world missions. Center Grove’s Missions budget is funded entirely through Faith Promise giving, which is an amount above and beyond the tithe. The funds raised through Faith Promise support our career missionaries, short-term missions trips, church planting, college ministries, and other missionary opportunities.

Short-Term Missions Trips

Another way we fulfill the Great Commission is through participating in Short-Term Mission trips. The past two summers we partnered with New City Fellowship in St. Louis, MO, reaching out to the Inner City of St. Louis to meet their needs in a practical way, as well as to share the Gospel and reflect the love of Jesus Christ.

During the day, we do Work Projects like painting a widow’s living room or building a wheelchair ramp for a disabled senior. As we do this, we meet people’s needs, visibly affirming God’s mercy and justice. We also tutor children through Firm Foundation Tutoring Program. Firm Foundation is designed to teach inner-city and refugee youth the love and grace of God as well as engage them in academic activities to promote retention of skills gained throughout the school year.

In the evenings we hold Kids Bible Clubs in the local neighborhoods, including: singing, games, gospel presentation, bible lesson and FUN! New City Fellowship follows up with the kids and gives them an invitation to attend church, and to have a deeper relationship with a loving Savior.
